                   BOARD APPOINTMENTS AND TRADING STATEMENT

Eleco plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Quinn as Non-executive
Director. Tom Quinn has enjoyed a long and successful career in corporate
finance and financial markets. He was previously a partner of W Greenwell and
Company, Stockbrokers, a director of Samuel Montague and Company Limited,
Barclays de Zoete Wedd Limited and Hambros Bank plc.

Eleco plc is also pleased to announce the appointment of John Morgan as Deputy
Chairman.

John Ketteley, Executive Chairman of Eleco plc said:

'With his long experience in investment banking and financial markets, I
expect Tom Quinn to make an important contribution to Eleco plc at this
critical phase in its growth.'

'John Morgan has played a key role in the recovery phase of Eleco plc and I am
delighted that he has agreed to become Deputy Chairman at this important stage
in our development.'

At the Annual General Meeting of the Company held today, John Ketteley made
the following trading statement:

'The Group has started the year in line with expectations. We are well placed
to take advantage of our investment over the past two years, in increased
capacity and new products and services.'
