'First four months profit significantly ahead
despite market uncertainties'
At Eleco plc's Annual General Meeting which is to be held today (16 November
2005) at The London Capital Club, Abchurch Lane, London EC4 at 12:00 noon,
Executive Chairman John Ketteley will make the following statement:
'I commented in my Chairman's statement in the Annual Report that the outlook in
our UK markets was more uncertain than it had been for some time and there were
signs that demand may be weakening in some sectors of the construction industry.
Nevertheless, the Group had made a good start to the year.
I can now report that profits before tax for the first four months of the year
are significantly higher than the corresponding period last year, which had been
somewhat affected by disruption to Bell & Webster's pre-cast concrete
operations'.
