                         DIRECTORS' INTERESTS IN SHARES


Eleco plc (the 'Company') announces awards made over 120,000 ordinary 10p shares
in the Company each to the Directors, Mr J H B Ketteley and Mr D S Dannhauser,
with effect on 18 December 2000 under its Long Term Incentive Plan. Subject to
the attainment of a performance criterion, the shares will vest on 1 January
2004.

The total interests in the Company's Ordinary Shares capital of the two
Directors now stand as follows:
