                        Issue of redeemable B shares

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange for 474,800,323 new redeemable B shares to be admitted to the Official
List.  It is expected that admission of the redeemable B shares will become
effective and dealings in them will commence on 3 November 2003.  The new
redeemable B shares will rank pari passu with the existing redeemable B shares.
