Transaction in own shares

EPE Special Opportunities plc (the "Company") announces today that on the 8 June 2012 it purchased 10,000 shares of 5 pence each ("Ordinary Shares") at an average price of 52.5 pence per share. The Company intends to hold the purchased shares in treasury.

The number of Ordinary Shares in issue following the above (excluding treasury shares), and the figure to be used as the denominator for calculations of interests in the Company's voting rights is 29,391,769 Ordinary Shares.
