Board and Divisional Appointments
Stobart announces the following main board and divisional appointments:
· Avril Palmer-Baunack is appointed as an executive director of the Group and as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and a member of the plc board. Avril joined the Group following the recent acquisition of Autologic Holdings PLC.
· William Stobart is re-appointed as an executive director of the Group and will rejoin the plc board.
· Richard Butcher becomes Chief Executive Officer of Stobart Estates with additional responsibilities for identifying investment opportunities for Stobart Biomass, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Tinkler. He also remains Company Secretary.
All the appointments are effective immediately.
Commenting on the appointments, Rodney Baker-Bates, Non-Executive Chairman of Stobart, said:
"In pursuit of our stated strategy we have taken this opportunity to strengthen the executive composition of the board. With the recent acquisition of Autologic, we have been fortunate to secure the services of Avril Palmer-Baunack, who has a considerable depth of experience in the public company market and in the automotive sector in particular.
"We are also pleased to welcome back to the board, William Stobart, who can now devote more of his time to wider operational issues after completing much of the restructuring work in the Transport division. Richard Butcher also becomes Chief Executive Officer of the Estates division, which has become an increasingly important part of the Group."
The board composition is now as follows:
Non-executive directors:
Rodney Baker-Bates, Chairman; David Beever, Michael Kayser, Alan Kelsey and Paul Orchard-Lisle.
Executive Directors:
Andrew Tinkler, Chief Executive Officer; Avril Palmer-Baunack, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Ben Whawell, Chief Financial Officer; William Stobart, Executive Director.
Company Secretary: Richard Butcher
Avril was until recently the Chief Executive Officer of Autologic Holdings plc and is currently a non-executive director of Helphire Group plc and Molins Group plc. She has also been Chief Executive Officer of Universal Salvage plc and a non-executive director of Alexon Group plc.
William has worked with the Group since 1981 and had been a director from 2007 until 2011. He is currently interested in 11,429,412 ordinary shares in Stobart, representing 3.23 per cent. of the issued share capital. In addition he has an interest in 5,717,149 ordinary shares pursuant to the Executive Share Incentive Scheme announced on 8 December 2011.
There are no other matters requiring disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
