Board changes

Alan Pepper to be appointed as COO and Sarah Harvey to join as CFO

essensys plc, the leading global provider of mission-critical software and technology to the flexible workspace industry, announces a planned evolution of its senior management team to accompany the next stage of the Group's growth. This extension of the senior management team reflects the significant expansion of essensys in recent years, and follows the conclusion of the Group's successful £33 million fundraise in July 2021. It is anticipated that these changes will take place by the end of the Group's current financial year (31 July 2022).

Alan Pepper, currently Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer will at that point assume the newly created stand alone role of Chief Operating Officer ("COO").

Sarah Harvey will join essensys as Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") from Virgin Media O2, where she currently holds the role of Operations Finance Director. Sarah is an experienced finance professional, having qualified in 2002 as a Chartered Accountant with PwC, and latterly was a Director in their Transaction Services, Capital Markets team, leading all aspects of listed company transactions including acquisitions, disposals, IPOs and fund raising.  She has spent the last five years in a number of senior roles within Telefonica UK (now Virgin Media O2), including as Commercial Finance Director and two years as Chief Financial Officer of giffgaff where she oversaw significant revenue and profit growth.

In his new role, Alan Pepper will oversee the Group's central operations and commercial activities, reporting to Mark Furness, Chief Executive Officer. Alan will remain on the Group's board of directors, which Sarah will join on appointment.

Jon Lee, Non-Executive Chairman of essensys, said:

"I am very excited by the evolution of our management team, to add capacity to essensys' growth ambitions.  Alan Pepper has been integral to the growth and success of essensys in the last five years. Alan's understanding of the complex operational challenges we solve in the flexible workspace industry makes him the best and obvious candidate to lead our mission-critical operations. I am delighted to welcome Sarah Harvey to essensys.  She brings a wealth of relevant expertise and is extremely well qualified to oversee the continued financial management of the Group. This new management structure comes at a significant point in essensys' growth journey, and ensures that we have the right people in the right roles to further enable us to achieve our goals and deliver the next phase of our ambitious expansion plan."
