                     Resignation of Non-Executive Director



Filtrona plc today announces the resignation of Paul Heiden as a Non-executive 
Director of the Company with effect from the conclusion of its Annual General 
Meeting to be held on Wednesday 26 April 2006.

Jeff Harris, Chairman of Filtrona plc, commented 'I would like to thank Paul for 
his tremendous assistance to the Board both during and after the demerger. With 
the transition of Filtrona to an independent publicly listed company successfully 
completed, Paul has decided to concentrate on other commitments and we wish him 
every success for the future. The search for his replacement is well advanced.'
