NOTIFICATION OF DIRECTORS' SHARE TRANSACTIONS



The company reports the following transactions in the company's ordinary shares
of 40p by directors:

•        On 25 May 2004, Richard Palmer purchased 6,000 shares at a price of
         204p each

•        Also on 25 May 2004, Ann Wilson purchased 6,000 shares at a price of
         204p each.

As a result of the above transactions, those directors' shareholdings are now:

•        Richard Palmer 538,000 shares (1.00% of the total issued share capital)

•        Ann Wilson 399,356 shares (0.75% of the total issued share capital).
