NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTERESTS IN SHARES

European Motor Holdings plc was informed on 11 July 2006 that the notifiable
shareholding of Barclays PLC is now  2,816,867 shares of 40p each, representing
5.15 per cent of the Company's total current issued share capital.

Of the above, 2,058,776 ordinary shares, representing 3.76 per cent of the
Company's issued share capital are  registered to Barclays Global Investors Ltd.
