Issue of Equity


The Company announces that on 05 July 2002 it issued and allotted a total of
365,000 ordinary shares of 40 pence each in the Company as a result of the
exercise of options under the Company's 1990 Share Option Scheme.  As a result
of this exercise there are currently 52,309,710 ordinary shares in issue.


Application will be made at the earliest practicable opportunity for admission
of the new ordinary shares to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange.
