Jupiter European Opportunities Trust PLC ('the Company') received notification
today from Mr A F C Darwall, a director of the Company, that he purchased 50,000
Ordinary shares in the Company on 12th May 2005 at 126.5p per share and 75,000
Ordinary shares in the Company today at 126.5p per share.

Following the above purchases he is now interested in a total of 2,294,013
Ordinary shares representing 2.84% of the total voting rights in the Company of
which 777,320 shares are held on behalf of or in the name of his wife and
children.
