Jupiter European Opportunities Trust PLC ('the Company') received notification
today from Exeter Asset Management Limited ('Exeter') that as a result of
purchases on  16th July 2003 of Ordinary Shares of 1p each in the Company, the
aggregate number of shares in the Company managed by Exeter is 2,515,000,
representing 3.09% of the issued share capital.

The said transactions comprised 190,000 and 110,000 Ordinary Shares purchased by
the Exeter Managed Growth Fund and the Exeter Global Opportunities Fund ,
respectively. The breakdown of their resulting aggregate holding is as follows:

Exeter Managed Growth Fund                          1,225,000

Exeter Global Opportunities Fund                        600,000

Exeter Managed Growth Fund                             690,000

2,515,000
