Mist Update
Eurovestech is today holding an investor presentation to discuss the potential
of the sound separation technology developed by Mist Technologies SA ('Mist'),
in which Eurovestech holds 46 per cent.
Mist's technology divides a song or a piece of music into separate tracks, each
containing a single instrument (guitar, violin, drums etc). The separated tracks
can be used to remaster music or film soundtracks to high definition surround
sound quality. They also enable users to create personalised versions of the
music - for example, by mixing it with their own voices.
Mist's founder and chief executive Nicolas Andre says 'Our technology offers
listeners a new way to enjoy music'. Mist plans to launch a website in the
coming months which will offer its technology free to consumers. The directors
of Mist believe this website can become an integral part of how online
communities create and share music. The initial aim is to build up traffic on
the site, enabling it to exploit its advertising potential at a later stage.
Eurovestech invested £0.8m for its stake in Mist. Eurovestech intends to
participate in any further funding to aid Mist's expansion. Based on the
progress to date, this is likely to take place at a higher valuation than its
original investment.
Eurovestech chief executive Richard Bernstein said 'We are excited by the
progress at Mist and the potential its technology holds to offer music lovers a
completely new experience. We look forward to continuing to work with Mist to
ensure that this potential is realised'.
