EVS Signs a EUR 2 Million Rental & Service ...

(Euronext EVS.BR, OTC Pinksheets EVBEF), the leader in Professional Digital Video applications for Live TV Production announces today it has signed a major agreement with the UEFA for the rental of technology and the providing of service and support to the organisation of UEFA EURO 2008TM, the largest pan-European soccer tournament. The Host Broadcast planning and operations for the tournament will be implemented by UEFA Media Technologies SA (UMET) on behalf of UEFA. The EUR 2 million deal includes 60 XT[2] servers, many Multicam LSM, SpotBox, Keyword Assignment and IPDirector applications, as well as XNet[2] networking functionalities. The 4 dedicated HD OB Vans that are part of the UEFA Host Broadcast Operations shall each be equipped with 11 XT[2] servers, together with IPDirector applications for highlight package and clip compilation. As part of the Host Broadcast Operations Teams planning for UEFA EURO 2008TM, a major Central Media Server Architecture in Standard Definition has been ordered to be deployed at the International Broadcast Center. Hundreds of thousands of highly valuable clips shall be created, metadated, sorted in both high and low resolution. As part of the LIVEX project created by the UEFA Host Broadcast Operations, those shall be shared across the different distribution platforms by the tournament broadcast partners and the host producer. Post-production processes shall be accelerated thanks to recent EVS interoperability initiatives with the key editing software packages. Live production, highlights on TV or on websites, in-flight packages, talk shows are using EVS technologies to get real-time access to content: XT[2] and IPDirector shall be at the heart of the EURO 2008TM.
