EVS XT[2] IS FIRST PRODUCTION SERVER TO OFFER N...
Liège (Belgium), March 11, 2008, EVS Broadcast Equipment S.A.
(Euronext Brussels EVS.BR), world leader in broadcast production
servers, today announced integration with Final Cut Studio 2 and
native support for Apple ProRes 422 (Nasdaq: AAPL) to meet the
broadcast industry's requirements for High Definition cross platform
workflow solutions. The XT[2] production server from EVS is known for
its extreme reliability, versatility, and incomparable speed. The
XT[2] serves as the foundation for broadcasters and production
facilities looking to ingest, organize, playout, and exchange the
highest quality video with post production systems for live and
near-live broadcast production.
"By integrating the new Apple ProRes 422 codec, EVS takes another
step forward to enlarge broadcasters' production and post production
perspectives," said Pierre L'Hoest, EVS Chief Executive Officer. "We
are proud to give Final Cut Pro users what they've been asking for:
the ability to access media recorded on our XT[2] production servers
instantly without requiring any transcoding. Now any HD XT[2] server
can be easily updated to integrate this new standard, allowing our
customers to benefit immediately from this new capability."
"Final Cut Studio is becoming the video production suite of choice
for broadcast and post-production professionals around the world,"
said Rob Schoeben, Apple's vice president of Applications Product
Marketing. "Native support for Apple ProRes 422 in the XT[2] means
that the incredibly popular tool set of Final Cut Studio is now
available to editors during sports and live event production."
The XT[2], combined with its related software applications such as IP
Director and MulticamLSM, offers the flexibility to handle both SD
and HD formats and boasts an "always-on" permanent loop recording
capability. Every second of every event can be logged, and operators
can attach searchable keywords and other metadata to the assets for
comprehensive file management. The open architecture of the XT[2] and
its native support of the Apple ProRes 422 make it the most reliable
and efficient system for the transfer and streaming of ingested media
with associated metadata to Final Cut Pro craft editors in both SD
and HD.

integration with Final Cut Studio at booth n° C4911 (Central Hall).
