FBD Holdings plc ('FBD') received notification on 31st December, 2003 that Bank
of Ireland Asset Management Limited has a notifiable interest of  2,666,938
ordinary shares in the capital of FBD representing 6.36 per cent of its issued
share capital. The shares are held on behalf of a range of clients who are each
the beneficial owner of a portion of the shareholding. A breakdown of that
interest between registered holders as required by section 71(3) of the Act is
