Purchase of Own Shares
FBD HOLDINGS PLC ('FBD' or the 'Company') announces that the Company has today
purchased 107,336 Ordinary Shares of €0.60 each (hereinafter 'shares') in the
market at a price of €24.48 per share. The shares purchased are to be held as
treasury shares.


Issued Share Capital Update
Following the above purchase FBD now holds 1,584,066 shares in treasury and has
33,877,140 shares in issue, excluding the treasury shares.


Confirmation of number of voting rights
The total number of shares in issue which are both admitted to trading on the
Irish Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange and carry voting rights is
33,877,140. This number may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the
calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their
interest, or a change to their interest, in FBD Holdings plc.

Section 209 (3) of the Companies Act, 1990 effectively suspends any voting
rights attaching to the 1,584,066 treasury shares for so long as they are held
in treasury.
