Appointment of Gerry Buggy as Global Head of Software Sales

First Derivatives plc (AIM: FDP.L, ESM: GYQ.I), a leading provider of software and consulting services to the capital markets industry, today announces the appointment of Gerry Buggy as Global Head of Software Sales. Prior to this role, Gerry served as Global Head of Reference and Legal Entity Data and Hedge Funds Strategy at Thomson Reuters.  In his new role, Gerry will report directly to the CEO, Brian Conlon.

Gerry Buggy has over 20 years capital markets technology experience both in the US and EMEA. He is widely regarded in the industry as a senior technology figure with strong industry connections and a deep knowledge of marketing and selling technology and trading solutions. Prior to joining Thompson Reuters, Gerry held a number of senior executive positions including founder of Fund Clear Hedge Fund Services;  MD (EMEA) of NASDAQ-listed middleware provider, NEON; Global Head of Sales and Marketing at Tibco; and founder of MSB, a leading real-time infrastructure consulting services company.
