Notes to Editors
FDM is an international IT services company with three business units: IT
Staffing, IT Professional Services and IT Training.
Founded in 1984, FDM has headquarters in the UK and offices in the USA, Germany
and Luxembourg. The company has a rapidly expanding client base which includes
British Airways, JP Morgan, The AA, Sybase and Reuters.
Its award winning on-line IT training programme, FDM Academy, is the longest
running of its kind in the UK, and offers candidates the opportunity to learn
JAVA and .NET. On completion of the programme, these specialists (known as
Mounties), are then placed with its clients, differentiating the company from
the majority of its competitors in the IT staffing market, who rely on a shared
database of contractors.
Through the utilisation of Mounties and freelance contractors, FDM can provide
clients with a combination of skills, significantly help reduce costs and offer
the guarantee that FDM's permanent staff will remain on site for the duration of
the contract. FDM can project manage the whole recruitment function and using
the Group's technical expertise, identify candidates and interview candidates
prior to placement.
FDM's Professional Services division offers development, support and product
implementation; with highly skilled teams working on packaged or bespoke
solutions for its clients. The Professional Services division primarily uses
Mounties on these projects, providing the client with the added comfort of
stability of resource and a cost effective solution.
FDM Learning offers project based training programmes for a variety of business
sectors, including local and central government, investment management, banking
and reinsurance. The training covers a range of topics including IT, financial
products and processes and personal skills and can be delivered on or off site.
As part of its offering, FDM Learning is able to provide an e-learning facility
for its clients.
The company was listed on AIM in April 2005 and has a market capitalisation of
£19.5m with annual sales of approximately £40 million.
