AGM Statement
FDM (LSE: FDMG), the IT services business, is today holding its annual general
meeting at 10.30 am in Brighton. At the meeting FDM's Chairman, Ivan Martin,
will make the following statement:
"Trading during the first four months of the current year has been in line with
our expectations. We have witnessed some slowing in demand for low margin
freelance contractors, due we believe to general economic conditions, but this
has been more than matched by continued strong demand for our in-house Mountie
resources.
Since our preliminary results were released on 11 March 2008 we have announced
the signing of a training contract with EADS. Under this contract FDM will, as
a consortium member, provide a complete training solution for the Fire and
Rescue Control project which impacts all the Fire and Rescue Services within
England. The contract is worth approximately £2.0 million for the initial
course development, with a potential value of up to £6.0 million, depending on
training delivery options undertaken, over an initial three year period. The
contract has commenced and the Board believes it shows FDM's ability to develop
business opportunities outside the financial services sector.
The Board continues to expect further progress through 2008. The number of
Mounties we are currently training is increasing as we expand our London and
Manchester Academies."
