FORD ANNOUNCES GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS VICE PRESIDENTS
DEARBORN, Mich, March 30 - Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) announced today its
Board of Directors has elected Stephen E. Biegun as a corporate officer of the
company and vice president of International Governmental Affairs, effective
April 19.
Separately, the company also announced the appointment of Dan R. Brouillette as
vice president of Washington Affairs, effective April 1, and the promotion of
John Bozzella to vice president, Public Policy and State Governmental Affairs.
Biegun, 40, served most recently as national security advisor to Senate Majority
Leader Bill Frist, M.D., and, prior to that, as a senior deputy to National
Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice. In this new role for Ford, Biegun will oversee
all aspects of Ford's international governmental affairs and will report to
Ziad S. Ojakli, the company's group vice president of Corporate Affairs. A
graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Biegun also has served as
chief of staff and principal foreign and economic policy advisor to the chairman
of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He is fluent in Russian.
Brouillette, 41, served most recently as the majority staff director on the U.S.
House of Representatives' Committee on Energy and Commerce, directing and
supervising all legislative and political strategy. Previously, he served as
Assistant Secretary of Energy from 2001 through 2003, heading the department's
advocacy on energy policy, national security, research and development, and
environmental management issues. A graduate of the University of Maryland,
Brouillette also is a former U.S. Army tank commander and reserve drill
instructor. Brouillette succeeds Janet Mullins-Grissom and will report to Ojakli.
Bozzella's promotion comes after a 10-year career at Ford. He most recently
served as executive director of governmental affairs and previously served as
executive director, Office of the Chairman. Prior to his Ford career, Bozzella,
42, served as director of state legislative affairs for the City of New York's
Office of the Mayor. Prior to that, he worked for the United Federation of
Teachers as political director and legislative representative. Bozzella, a
graduate of Cornell University, will also report to Ojakli.
