Wolseley plc Non Executive Director Appointment

 

 

Wolseley plc today announces the appointment of Karen Witts to its Board as a Non Executive Director with effect from 1 November 2011. Karen will also become a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees.

 

Karen, 48, is Vodafone Group's Chief Financial Officer for Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific, a position she has held since June 2010.  Through her role at Vodafone she is a Non Executive Director of Safaricom Ltd.  Previously she worked for more than ten years in a number of financial and general management positions at BT Group, most recently as Chief Financial Officer of BT Retail. Prior to this, Karen worked as a Corporate Risk Manager for Paribas for two years. Karen's earlier career included financial and accounting positions at Grand Metropolitan plc between 1993 and 1997 and Mars Electronics International between 1992 and 1993. Karen trained as a Chartered Accountant at Ernst & Whinney.

 

Commenting on the Board appointment, Gareth Davis, Chairman, said:
