Non Executive Director Appointment
Wolseley plc today announces the appointment of Alan Murray to its Board as a Non Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2013. Alan will also become a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees of the Board.
Alan, 59, has been a member of the Supervisory Board of HeidelbergCement AG since 2010 and was previously a Non Executive director of International Power plc between 2007 and 2011. He has considerable international operational experience and was previously Group Chief Executive of Hanson plc between 2002 and 2007. Alan joined Hanson in 1988 holding various senior management positions before becoming Finance Director of the building materials group in 1997. He was CEO of Hanson North America between 1998 and 2002 before subsequently becoming Group CEO. In 2007 Hanson was acquired by HeidelbergCement AG and he was a member of the Management Board until the end of 2008. Alan is a qualified chartered management accountant.
