Genesis Emerging Markets Fund Limited (the 'Company')

Dividend Declaration

The Board of Directors of Genesis Emerging Markets Fund Limited has recommended to shareholders that the Company distributes a dividend of 14.0 US cents per Participating Preference Share in respect of the year ended 30 June 2017, subject to approval by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting on 6 November 2017.

While declared in US dollars, the dividend will be paid in sterling; we should note to shareholders that the distribution amount will not be hedged between the time of this announcement and the payment date.

If approved by shareholders, the dividend will be paid on 1 December 2017 to those shareholders on the register at close of business on 10 November 2017.
