Genesis Emerging Markets Fund Limited

The Directors of the Genesis Emerging Markets Fund Limited are pleased
to announce that the Annual General Meeting of the Company was held on
13th October 2003 and all resolutions were passed. Accordingly, the
authority of the Company to purchase up to 15% of the Participating
shares has been renewed until the next Annual General Meeting.

A copy of the special business passed at the Annual General Meeting has
been submitted for publication through the Document Viewing Facility.
