Immedia Broadcasting Plc
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare commit to a new two-year advertising
contract
with Immedia's live radio station Lloydspharmacy Live
Immedia Broadcasting Plc ('Immedia'), the UK's leading provider of live tailored
radio for retailers, today announces that GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer
Healthcare has just signed up to an unprecedented two-year broadcast package
with Immedia's radio station Lloydspharmacy Live. The radio service provided by
Lloydspharmacy exclusively reaches 52,000 pharmacy customers each and every hour
and plays for 9.5 hours per day.
GSK has been an avid fan of the broadcast medium since Immedia's Lloydspharmacy
Live was launched two and a half years ago. Since its inception GSK has used the
leading community pharmacy chain's airwaves as an educational tool to raise
awareness of key healthcare issues.
Peter Hinkley, Sales Director at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare said '
Lloydspharmacy Live provides a channel through which we can work with Lloyds
pharmacies to drive awareness of seasonal healthcare issues and advertising
campaigns with Lloydspharmacy customers (as well as healthcare assistants and
pharmacists). Lloydspharmacy Live is a valuable media source that we believe has
clear benefits for customers, pharmacy staff and of course our business.'
More than 60 other suppliers have also taken advantage of the medium since its
launch by Bruno Brookes in 2003 - with many taking advantage of the additional
staff training option.
Mark Green, Commercial Director for Lloydspharmacy commented, 'Lloydspharmacy
Live is designed to educate and entertain our customers and staff and we have
never strayed from the initial aims of the station - to be responsible,
informative and pioneering. It is a strategy that works well. We are
communicating key healthcare messages in a way we know our customers can relate
to and respond to.'
Bruno Brookes, CEO, Immedia Broadcasting Plc added: 'We are delighted that GSK
has signed this new two-year contract with Immedia to continue advertising on
our highly successful radio station Lloydspharmacy Live. We are now
consolidating existing client relationships as well as developing new ones, as
we solidfy our presence in the retail sector. It is a competitive market and
for traditional terrestrial radio operators, advertising commitments are usually
on a more short-term basis. Thus this makes GSK's new two-year contract with us
especially pleasing and differentiates Immedia's in-store radio as a medium to
which advertisers want to commit long-term.'
