                                  Board Change

Filtronic plc, announces the resignation of John Samuel as Financial Director
with immediate effect. He will remain as an employee until the 30th June 2004.

John will then be joining Zetex plc as Chief Financial Officer.

John has served as Financial Director for over 13 years and the Board would like
to thank him for his contributions to the growth of the Company and wish him
every success in his new position.

David Staddon, Group Financial Controller, will continue to be responsible for
all accounting functions.
