Grant of SAYE Options and Director/PDMR dealings

Filtronic plc (LSE: FTC), the designer and manufacturer of microwave electronics products for the wireless telecoms infrastructure market, announces that pursuant to the Filtronic plc All Employee HMRC approved Sharesave plan ("the Sharesave plan"), approved by shareholders on 19 September 2008, 1,043,026 options over Filtronic plc ordinary shares were granted on 4 April 2012 with a contract start date of 1 May 2012.  The maturity date under this grant is 1 May 2015, and the option price, which was set in accordance with HMRC rules for approved plans, is 22.6p.

Under the scheme, the allocation of share options was made available to all UK employees, and amounted to under 1.1% of the Company's issued share capital.

The number of options included above which were granted to directors and/or PDMRs was:

Maura Moynihan	PDMR	30,106

Prior to the above grant of share options, the following Directors/PDMRs had withdrawn from the Sharesave plan in respect of options granted on 23 September 2010 and accordingly the following options have now lapsed:

The Company also announces that following the recently announced maturity of options granted under the Sharesave plan in February 2009, it has been notified of the exercise of options by, and the subsequent issue of shares (on 3 April 2012), to the following directors and PDMRs:

Preeti Mardia	PDMR*	31,200
Maura Moynihan	PDMR	31,200

*Hemant Mardia and Preeti Mardia, being husband and wife, are connected persons as defined in the UKLA Listing Rules Appendix 1 and 96B (2) of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 18 October 2010.

The Company has been notified that on 19 March 2012, Hemant Mardia, disposed of 16,280 ordinary shares of 10p each in Filtronic at a sale price of 33.4p per share and immediately acquired 16,280 Filtronic shares at a purchase price of 33.5p through a Bed and ISA arrangement.

In addition, Preeti Mardia, his wife, also sold 16,280 Filtronic shares at a sale price of 33.4p and purchased 16,280 at a purchase price of 33.5p on 19 March 2012 through a Bed and ISA arrangement.
