Pursuant to Section 198 of the Companies Act 1995 (as amended) a notification
has been received on 15 March 2001 from FMR Corp, 82 Devonshire Street,
Boston, MA 02109, USA in which they advise that FMR Crop and its direct and
indirect subsidiaries and Fidelity International Limited (FIL) and its direct
and indirect subsidiaries, both being non-beneficial holders, have a
notifiable interest in 7,725,700 Ordinary Shares in the share capital of
Filtronic plc, representing 10.52 per cent of the Ordinary capital.
