the company has received notification from Prudential plc and certain of its
subsidiary companies that on 16th August 2001, the total notifiable interest
of Prudential plc in the ordinary shares of the company is 11,052,333 being
15.00% of the issued share capital.

Percentage holdings are calculated using an issued share capital of 73,650,402
ORD GBP 0.10 shares.
