APPOINTMENT OF NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
FirstGroup is pleased to announce that Jim Forbes has today joined the Board
as a Non-Executive Director.
Jim Forbes BSC CEng MIEE (53 yrs) is Chief Executive of Scottish and Southern
Energy plc. An engineer by training he started his career with the South of
Scotland Electricity Board and held various posts in the electricity industry
before taking up the role of Chief Executive of Southern Electric PLC. When
Southern Electric and Scottish Hydro-Electric merged in 1998 he became Chief
Executive of the newly formed group Scottish and Southern Energy plc. He is
also on the board of the Electricity Association Limited.
Commenting, Moir Lockhead, Group Chief Executive of FirstGroup plc said: 'I am
delighted to welcome Jim to FirstGroup. His experience of maximising
shareholder value in a regulated environment will further strengthen the Board
and I look forward to the valuable contribution he will make.'
There are no other details required to be disclosed under paragraph 16.4 of
the Listing Rules.
