FirstGroup plc ('the Company') announces that, following the transfer for NIL
consideration on 6 July 2001 of 10,000 Ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the
Company to the Archie Foundation (the Aberdeen Royal Children's Hospital
Appeal), Moir Lockhead, a director of the Company, has a beneficial interest
in 3,828,234 shares in the Company.
