               SALE OF BRISTOL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT COMPLETED


The Board of FirstGroup is pleased to announce that, following finalisation of
the purchaser's financing arrangements, the sale of the entire equity in
Bristol International Airport (BIA) completed today.

Prior to completion of the sale, FirstGroup held a 51% shareholding in BIA
with the remaining 49% being held by Bristol City Council. The purchaser is a
joint venture vehicle owned by Macquarie Bank Limited and Cintra Concesiones
de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., a Grupo Ferrovial company based in
Spain.
