                         Directors Interests in Shares

The Company was notified on 15 September 2004 that on that date Mr. R A F
Buchanan, a director of the Company, sold 41,515 ordinary shares of 25p each
('Ordinary Shares') representing 0.08 per cent. of the issued share capital of
the Company at a price of 287p per Ordinary Share. Following this sale Mr.
Buchanan retains an interest in 105,558 Ordinary Shares representing 0.22 per
cent. of the issued share capital of the Company.
