                Power Leisure plc Changes Name to Paddy Power plc


Paddy Power Bookmakers, currently trading on the Dublin and London Stock
Exchanges as Power Leisure plc announces that with effect from today, Thursday,
30th May 2002, the Company shares will trade as Paddy Power plc.

Despite the Company change of name the share symbols PWL.I (Ireland) and PWL.L
(London) will remain unchanged.

The change of name to Paddy Power plc was approved by shareholders at the
Company AGM on 26th April 2002 and has been entered in the register of the
Dublin Companies office.

The name change will further enhance brand awareness of Paddy Power and provide
greater connection between the public company and its core operations.
