             Non-Executive Director Appointment at Paddy Power plc.


The Board of Paddy Power plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr.
Patrick Kennedy as a non-executive director of the Company with immediate
effect.

Patrick is Chief Financial Officer of Greencore Group plc. He previously worked
with KPMG Corporate Finance both in Ireland and internationally and with
McKinsey Management Consultants in London, Dublin and Amsterdam as a strategy
consultant across a variety of sectors. He joined Greencore in 1998 with
responsibility for Group development and was central to the acquisition and
integration of Hazlewood Foods in 2001. He was appointed to the Board of
Greencore Group plc in 2001 and assumed his current role in 2002.

Commenting, Fintan Drury, Chairman of Paddy Power plc said: 'As part of the
ongoing development of the business it is crucial that we attract individuals of
the highest calibre with a breadth of business experience to our Board. I am
confident that Patrick will make a significant contribution to the growth and
development of Paddy Power as we meet the opportunities ahead.'

In January 2001, Patrick was appointed a director of Hazlewood Foods plc which
was a publicly quoted company until its delisting from the London Stock Exchange
on 9 April 2001.

Except as stated above, Patrick has not held any directorships in any publicly
quoted company at any time in the past five years and there are no disclosures
to be made pursuant to Section 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
