NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST IN PADDY POWER PLC

Paddy Power plc has received a notification today from Fidelity Management &
Research Company dated 10th December 2002, that Fidelity International Ltd. has
a total notifiable interest in 3,781,940 (8.02%) Ordinary shares in the issued
share capital of Paddy Power plc.

Paddy Power plc has also received a notification from Standard Life Investments
dated 10th December 2002 of a reduction in their holding of Ordinary Shares of
Paddy Power plc to 1,038,705 (2.20%) from 1,531,398 (3.25%).
