Major New Product Upgrade and Launch
Focusrite Plc (AIM: TUNE), the global music and audio products company supplying hardware and software used by professional and amateur musicians around the world, announces the upgrade and launch of its second generation Scarlett USB audio interface range.
Scarlett is the number one selling audio interface product in the world. With over one million units sold since its launch in 2011, it is Focusrite's leading product by volume of sales. The new and upgraded Scarlett range is targeted at the large market of hobbyist recording musicians, all the way through to semi-professional producers and audio engineers.
Priced between £84.99 and £379.99 the second generation of the Scarlett USB audio interfaces is packed full of improvements, notably delivering Focusrite's fastest USB performance yet, with very low roundtrip latency measurements - so low, it opens up entirely new ways of recording for its largest target audience. The new range also boasts a host of improvements to the product design, imbedded technology and software, making the product better, faster and easier to use than its market leading predecessor.
Following the announcement of an alliance between Focusrite and Avid®, the new range of Scarlett interfaces will also include a number of software packages including an exclusive version of Avid Pro Tools® | First. Named Focusrite Creative Pack, the offering features the free version of the industry-standard Pro Tools digital audio software, alongside a collection of 12 additional software plug-ins including Ableton Live Lite, Softube's Time and Tone bundle, and much more, giving users the freedom to better explore Scarlett's capabilities.
Commenting on the launch, Dave Froker, CEO, said: "The Scarlett range is currently our most successful product range and has firmly established itself as the world market leader. Today we are launching the next generation of Scarlett, which is an even better product for recording musicians as it is faster and easier to use. It is available immediately and we have begun to distribute it via our long established sales channels and partners across the world. Initial consumer and sales channel feedback has been extremely positive and we are confident that the second generation Scarletts will cement our place as the provider of the world's number one interface range for years to come."
