ADVENT 2 VCT plc

FIRST FIBRE SALE COMPLETION 13th JULY 2000

Following the 2nd June 2000 announcement of Advent 2 VCT
plc's agreement to sell its entire holdings in First
Fibre Limited to ADVA AG Optical Networking ('ADVA'),
Advent 2 VCT plc has today received net 139,540 new ADVA
shares as traded on the German Neuer Markt. It should be
noted that six of these new ADVA shares are equivalent to
one old ADVA share prior to the very recent ADVA share
split.

Whilst the timing of the disposal of this holding in ADVA
is subject to certain restrictions, Advent 2 VCT plc does
not expect to be a long term holder of this stock.
