LEGG MASON INVESTORS AIM DISTRIBUTION TRUST PLC (the 'Company')

The Board of Legg Mason Investors AIM Distribution Trust plc is pleased to
announce the appointment of Rathbone Investment Management Limited as investment
manager to the Company with effect from 1 October 2003. Legg Mason Investments
(Europe) Limited ('Legg Mason'), the former investment manager of the Company
(who have been entirely co-operative during the process of the management
review), have resigned. No compensation payment is payable to Legg Mason.

The Rathbone Investment Management team will manage the Company under the
leadership of Michael Cunningham. This well established team has the support of
substantial research and investment expertise and the benefit of an excellent
track record.

The Company also intends to seek shareholder approval to change the Company name
to The Aim Distribution Trust PLC and an Extraordinary General Meeting will be
convened in due course.
