Board Appointment

The Board of Sports Direct International plc ("Sports Direct" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Jenkins as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

Claire Jenkins currently is Group Director Corporate Affairs and a member of the Executive Leadership Team at Rexam PLC, the FTSE 100 leading global consumer packaging company.  Prior to joining Rexam, she was on the Management Committee of international tobacco company Gallaher Group Plc (acquired by Japan Tobacco in 2007) where she was responsible for investor relations and group planning.

Claire currently is a Non-Executive Director of the Investor Relations Society and a Trustee of Amicus.

Dr Keith Hellawell, Non-Executive Chairman of Sports Direct said:
