Sports Direct International plc was notified on 29 March 2007 by Michael James
Wallace Ashley ('Mike Ashley'), in fulfilment of obligations imposed by the
Financial Services Authority in accordance with Disclosure and Transparency Rule
5 that, on 29 March 2007, following the end of the period for permitted
stabilisation in connection with the Company's initial public offering, the
notification by Merrill Lynch International, as stabilising manager, that it
does not wish to exercise the over allotment option granted to it by the Company
in connection with such stabilisation, and the consequential allotment to Mike
Ashley of an additional 46,440,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in Sports Direct
International plc, Mike Ashley was interested in 410,400,000 ordinary shares in
Sports Direct International plc representing 57.0% of the issued share capital
of the Company.
