                           Transaction in Own Shares





Sports Direct International Plc ("Sports Direct") today acquired, through
Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander Capital Markets Ltd, 975,000 of its ordinary
shares at an average price of 135.17 pence per ordinary share. 859,099 of the
purchased shares today will all be held as treasury shares.  The remaining
115,901 ordinary shares purchased today will be held for cancellation.



Following the above purchase, Sports Direct holds 72,000,000 ordinary shares as
treasury shares.  The total number of ordinary shares in issue, following the
above purchase and cancellation, (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is
647,884,099.
