Fairpoint Group plc - Directorate Change

Fairpoint Group plc ("Fairpoint" or "the Group") is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Russell to the board.

Mr Russell, aged 34, is appointed as a Non-Executive Director. He is a partner at Hanover Investors, a substantial shareholder in the Group with a holding of approximately 23%, and a Non-Executive Director of Regenersis Plc. Prior to joining Hanover Investors in 2007, he was a partner at Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman) and holds a MA (Hons) degree in English Literature from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University.

The Board also announces the resignation of Simon Gilbert, Non-Executive Director, who will be leaving the Group's Board. The Board would like to thank Simon for his contribution to the Group and wishes him every success in his future endeavours. Following Simon's resignation, the Board has appointed Mr Perry Blacher as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.
