                CHAIRMAN'S TRADING UPDATE AND AGM STATEMENT

Extract from the statement made by Anthony Fuller, Chairman, at the Annual
General Meeting held today: 25 July 2006.



Trading Update

Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C (Fuller's or the "Group") has made a good start to
the year.  This includes the Gales business which was acquired on 2 December
2005. Like for like sales for the combined  managed pub business are up 4.2% for
the 16 weeks to 22 July 2006 helped by the excellent weather during the period
and the World Cup.



As reported in the preliminary results on 9 June 2006, integration of the Gales
operations into the Fuller's estate is complete and the Group is seeing the
significant benefits of its acquisition including related synergies.



I remain enthusiastic about the year ahead and expect to see progress in the
combined business in line with our targets.



Changes in Board Responsibilities.

I intend to retire as Chairman at next year's AGM and am delighted that I have
been asked to stay on the Board for a further three years after that as a
Non-Executive Director. When I stand down as Chairman, Michael Turner, currently
our Chief Executive, will assume the role of Executive Chairman, maintaining his
responsibilities for strategy and overall management of the Group.



In preparation for these changes, I am very pleased to announce that the Board
has promoted Simon Emeny, Retail Director, to the position of Managing Director
of Fuller's Inns and John Roberts, Beer and Brands Director, to the position of
Managing Director of The Fuller's Beer Company.  I would like to congratulate
Simon and John on these well-deserved promotions and for their part in the
Group's success. They will assume their new positions with immediate effect,
which will enable Michael to prepare for his new role next year.
