THE FUTURE NETWORK plc
Notification of Substantial Interest in Shares
The Future Network plc (LSE: FNET), announced on 23 November 2000 that,
following the aggregation of the funds of Hill Samuel Asset Management
Limited and the funds of Scottish Widows Investment Management Limited,
it had received notification that the combined asset management operation
to be named Scottish Widows Investment Partnership Limited), held a
notifiable interest in 5,286,605 ordinary shares of The Future Network plc.
On the basis of the current issued share capital of The Future Network plc
of 142,913,456 ordinary shares, this interest represented 3.699% of such
relevant share capital.
The Future Network plc received notification, on 8 January 2001, from
Hill Samuel Asset Management Limited (on behalf of itself and Lloyds TSB
Group plc, Lloyds TSB Bank plc, and Scottish Widows Group Limited) advising
that the combined asset management operation of Hill Samuel Asset Management
Ltd and Scottish Widows Investment Management Ltd, known as Scottish Widows
Investment Partnership Ltd, no longer has a notifiable interest in the
ordinary shares of The Future Network plc.
