Galliford Try Announces £160m New Construction Orders and
Acquisition of Regional Housebuilder
Construction
Galliford Try, the construction and housebuilding group, has secured £160m of
new orders for its Construction Division since the New Year including:
* The financial closure of Newbury College PFI Pathfinder
Project. Galliford Try will participate as an equity partner in the Education
Link Consortium and as design and build contractor under a £10.3m contract for
the new college facility. This further reinforces the progress being made in
the area of PFI/PPP.
* A £17.9m award from London & Regional Properties for a
major retail and office refurbishment in King William Street, London
* £16.2m of orders to Galliford Communications for clients
in the Telecommunications Sector
* A £7.8m project as a construction partner for Grosvenor
* £23m of orders in the social housing sector
* A £7.1m new Police training facility at Ryton in
Warwickshire for the Home Office
* £10.5m of industrial term maintenance for Ineos Chlor -
at Runcorn and Northwich
* New waste water treatment facilities at Holyhead and
Prestatyn, valued at circa £23m, for Welsh Water Dwr Cymru.
We are also pleased to announce the acquisition of Burton Communications
Limited. Burton Communications provide specialist site rigging and microwave
installation services, primarily to the telecommunication industry and have
been employed by Galliford Communications on a number of their projects.
These services will now allow Galliford Communications to offer a wider
in-house service to their customers in addition to Burton Communications
providing a stand-alone service to the industry. The total consideration for
the acquisition is £175,000 payable in cash at completion.
Housebuilding
The Company is also pleased to announce the acquisition of Gerald Wood Homes
Limited, a specialist developer of high value homes on small sites in the
south west of England. The acquisition will enhance the Company's existing
housebuilding business in the area, Midas Homes Limited and reinforces the
company's strategy to be a strong regional housebuilder concentrating on
individually designed, high specification developments.
The consideration for the acquisition is a maximum of £1.15m of which £496,000
is payable at completion, with the remainder contingent on securing planning
consents on sites that the company has under contract. £300,000 of the
initial consideration will be satisfied by the issue of 919,540 ordinary
shares of 5p each in Galliford Try plc for which admittance to the official
list will be sought. The remainder will be satisfied by the issue of 10 year
loan notes.
