GALLIFORD TRY ACQUIRES MOBILE PHONE
INFRASTRUCTURE CHARTERED SURVEYORS
Galliford Try Plc, the construction and housebuilding group, announces the
acquisition of Pentland Limited, a firm of Chartered Surveyors that provides
site acquisition and town and country planning services to the mobile phone
industry.
The initial consideration for the acquisition is £1.1million paid on completion,
with a maximum of a further £1.7million subject to achieving future profits. The
consideration is being satisfied in cash from the company's own resources.
Galliford Try Communications is one of the UK's leading providers of design and
construction services for the mobile phone infrastructure and works for many of
the country's mobile phone companies. The acquisition of Pentland, with offices
based at Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Gloucester, will enable Galliford
Try to further extend the range of services it offers, providing an integrated
service to clients encompassing the identification and acquisition of sites for
mobile phone masts, designing and carrying out the construction, and erecting
the client's equipment.
Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try Plc commented:
'We have a successful communications business that is established as a market
leader in providing infrastructure services to the mobile phone industry. As
capacity requirements are expected to rise as the use of 3G increases, the
acquisition of Pentland enables us to further extend and enhance the services we
offer.'
