GALLIFORD TRY SECURES £91 MILLION IN
AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECTS
Galliford Try plc, the construction and housebuilding group, is pleased to
announce that the total affordable housing workload secured by the group since
the start of its new financial year in July has reached £91 million.
This follows the receipt, by a partnership between its subsidiary Midas Homes,
North Cornwall District Council, Westcountry Housing Association and the
Guinness Trust, of a resolution to grant planning permission for 173 housing
units, including 59 homes for sale, at Bude in Cornwall.
This workload also includes contracts awarded under agreements with the Devon
and Cornwall and the Toynbee Housing Association, with whom the group completed
a 105 unit mixed scheme at Maryland Point in Stratford in the last financial
year.
David Calverley, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, said:
'We are delighted with this endorsement of the strengths of our affordable
housing business. Affordable housing is one of the key markets for the Group and
we are benefiting from the growing level of expenditure in the sector. Working
closely with housing associations on their preferred procurement routes, we can
use our expertise to help them meet their objectives for delivering homes as
well as providing us with good quality opportunities.'
